Troubleshooting upgrades

Usually, the new version overwrites the previous one.

From 2015.07 on, DDB Access uses a different install path and installation wizard. As a consequence, the older and newer versions may both be present:

Before 2015.01:C:\Program Files (x86)\DDB Access
After 2015.07:C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartHanzi\DDB Access

If the upgrade seems to have failed, it may just mean that the older version is still present.

To make sure that older versions are correctly removed:

  1. Check if C:\Program Files (x86)\DDB Access is still present.
  2. If yes, doubleclick 'Uninstal' (or 'Uninstal.exe') in C:\Program Files (x86)\DDB Access.
  3. Download and install the latest version.
